Haiku (one single impression) - Kindness

My haiku for this week's prompt from One Single Impression - a blogging haiku community. The prompt was Kindness.

Sweet teardrops fall
Adult children coming home
After all these years

Hugs at the doorway
“Just set your coats anywhere!
And how was your flight…”

And then in the hall
A quiet apology
“My dear, it’s okay.”

Oh Sean, I believe you have been eavesdropping. Very well said.

this reminds me of the parable of the prodigal son...& it also speaks to me of this weekend's long awaited return of our daughter who is away at college. they are beautiful!

This reminds me how it was when I arrived home after being out for long periods. Thanks!

Can it get any worse than this?

Anticipation, excitement, forgiveness, love and empathy all behind one door. You brought this one home! Beautiful.
