Haiku - Loneliness

My iPod guards me
Beats and sounds drown out my fears
Quickly fill the void

This haiku is part of an online poetry project called One Deep Breath. The topic was loneliness, and I was reminded that we mask loneliness in different ways.

true enough, and well phrased. we all 'fill the void' in our own ways, and sadly, some of the ways we do so actually only contribute to it.

Now, I will always think of this when I see an iPod! Good poem.

For sure. Indicative of the now - I also used iPod in mine - it's so universally personal! Nice haiku!

Interesting that iPods are emerging as an expression of loneliness or a way to stave off loneliness.
